Certified translations in Portugal

Translation of documents intended for public authorities, courts, universities, companies and other organisations in Portugal or abroad.

Who translates and who certifies?

I carry out the translation. Certification is a separate legal formality carried out by a person or body authorised under Portuguese law, such as a notary, lawyer, solicitor, registry official or recognised chamber of commerce, depending on the applicable procedure.

Where the client wants an end-to-end service, I can arrange the necessary certification formalities with the competent professional or body.

Third-party costs: certification fees are shown separately and passed on in full to the certifying entity. I do not add a mark-up or commission to those fees.

Common documents

  • Birth, marriage and divorce certificates
  • Criminal record certificates
  • Diplomas, academic certificates and transcripts
  • Employment declarations and contracts
  • Powers of attorney and corporate documents
  • Documents for residence, nationality, study or employment
