How personal data is handled in quotations, translation projects and professional communications.

Data processed
Depending on the service, this may include contact details, quotation and billing data, correspondence and the contents of documents, audio or video supplied for translation, revision or transcription.
Documents containing third-party data
Legal, academic, immigration and professional documents may contain personal data relating to third parties, special-category data or criminal-conviction data. Where a corporate or institutional client determines the purposes of processing, I may act as a processor under Article 28 GDPR.
Retention

| Project files and working copies | Normally removed from the active workspace within 90 days after final delivery, unless a different period is justified or agreed. |
| Contractual correspondence | Normally up to 2 years after completion, subject to legal needs. |
| Tax records | 10 years where required by Portuguese tax law. |
Recipients
Data may be shared only as necessary with email/hosting providers, accounting services, certifying professionals, apostille authorities, couriers or public authorities where legally required or necessary for the requested service.
Rights
Depending on the legal basis, data subjects may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability under the GDPR. Complaints may be lodged with the Portuguese CNPD.
