Terms of Service
General terms for translation, revision, post-editing, transcription and certification/apostille arrangements.
Scope and formation of contract
A request for quotation is not binding. The service is commissioned when the client clearly accepts the quotation or proposal in writing and, where stated, makes the required advance payment. Specific terms in a quotation prevail over these general terms where incompatible.
Price, third-party costs and deadlines
The quotation identifies the service price and, where applicable, taxes, delivery charges and third-party costs. Certification, apostille and courier fees are itemised separately and passed on in full without mark-up or commission. Deadlines start once the necessary documents, instructions and any required payment have been received.
Quality and client responsibilities
Objective translation errors or omissions attributable to the service are corrected without additional charge when reported. The client must provide complete, legible documents and, for official documents, should indicate the destination country and receiving authority where known.
Confidentiality and data protection
Documents are treated as confidential and used only as necessary to assess, perform, deliver and manage the service. See the Privacy Policy.
Consumers and withdrawal
Where the client is a consumer and the contract is concluded at a distance, the Portuguese rules in Decree-Law 24/2014 apply. Consumers generally have 14 days to withdraw. If the consumer asks for the service to begin during that period, an express request is required; if the service is fully performed after the required express consent and acknowledgement, the withdrawal right may be lost under the statutory conditions.
Applicable law
Portuguese law applies, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules that may apply.
Alternative consumer dispute resolution
Portuguese law provides alternative consumer-dispute mechanisms. CNIACC — Centro Nacional de Informação e Arbitragem de Conflitos de Consumo — has territorial coverage that includes Caldas da Rainha. This does not constitute voluntary full membership of the Centre. See cniacc.pt and Legal information.
